- A new Featured Photo, from a recent wedding. The
contact page has been updated. Monique Stuber is now part of Decker's
Photography. Monique is CEO for Studio Operations. This gives me much
more time to be CEO of Picture Taking. You might also have
noticed that the home page has some slight changes, and I've updated my
photo on the Kirk Decker page.

- A new Featured Photo. A
raccoon I live trapped (next to
the front door of my chicken coop) and turned loose in a remote stream
bed. After that, it was a race between me, and the raccoon, to
see who
could get in front of the other. Judging from the number of
pictures I
have of the back end of the raccoon, I'd say the contest was about even.

- A new Featured Photo. Stacia

- A new Featured Photo. Stephanie
August 30, 2008
- A new Featured Photo. A Belladonna
Lily. The common name being "Naked Lady" Lily.
July 29, 2008
- A new Featured Photo. A Rose of
Sharon. Really nice. The background on this photo with its
radiating lines reminds me of spotlights on a stage.

- Lot'sa new stuff. A new Featured Photo.
Actually, it's six photos combined into one. The location is
Utah, around the Devil's slide area. The fellow you see in the
photo is trying to water ski over a spillway on the Weber river.
You can't get a boat down there, so he's being pulled by a 4-wheeler.
- Four panorama pages. These aren't your ordinary
panos. These are 360 degree images. You 're inside the
image. You can look in any direction - up, down, in front,
behind.

- A new Featured Photo. This is from Brooke's senior
portrait session. It was really hard to choose just one. I
think I'm going to add "Senior Photos" page to the web site so I can
post some more of Brooke's photos. There are several new pages in
the works, Panorama, Montana, and, Oregon.

- A new Featured Photo. Ok, yeah, it's
one of my kids,
and you can see all of the kids in the portrait section. It's
still a very nice image. One Model Place (.com) has chosen it to be one
of their
showcase images.
- A photograph from the recent snow storms in Wyoming is the
star of of a new Wyoming page.
(Landscapes - WY - Wyoming 2)
January 12, 2008
- A new Portrait Page. My kids finally decided to
humor
me, comb their hair, sit still, and, if not smile, at least look
pleasant for their mother's sake. They've been lurking around the
website, and now, here they all are in one location - Portrait page
number one. The original page one moves to page five.

- A new Featured Photo. 2007 left us with a lot to
think about. Richard left us with a lot to remember.
November 30, 2007
- A new Featured Photo. Actually three photos from a
masquerade. Rhonda (Rhonda's Custom Photography) and I did the
"formal" photographs. Rhonda has a new web site -
www.RhondasCustomPhotography.com Very nice.

- A new Featured Photo. I met Jisun at a wedding reception.
She would be going on tour soon and could I do a photograph for her
program? She was headed back to Texas in the morning. There'd be no
time to do a formal sitting. Normally I would have several lights at a
reception, but I was there mainly as a guest. "If you want, bring
your camera, do a few candids." I used my potato
masher strobe,
hand held, off camera, tipped down, and, angled. Some of its
light is the main light for Jisun while the rest spills on the
background creating the diagonal line on the wall. I like the way
Jisun is framed by the lines from the piano intersecting with the
lines on the background.

- September already! Busy, busy, busy. My black and white
landscapes have found a gallery in the form of the Willow Spring
Mercantile in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. I had no idea how much time
the little things, labeling, writing descriptions, and, all the
supporting stuff would take. That's my excuse for not updating the web
page. It's been a lot of fun, and, the print sales have been good.
- The Featured Photo has been updated with an image from
Malta, Idaho. If you find yourself in Malta, stop and say hi to Chad
and Cassi at Black Pine Alpacas(.com).
July 5, 2007
- Utah's third page gets a make over. This new picture
was taken in almost exactly the same place and at the same time of day
as the photo it replaces. However, the photographer is facing
East instead of West, and what a difference a little hindsight makes.
- Two of my favorite places in California, Tehachapi and
Truckee, meet in a second California landscape page.
June 1, 2007
- A new Featured Photo. Lee, with Luxa, 7 of 9, Arewn,
Galadeil, and Squashbucket.
- Another font change is in progress, this time to
Palatino. You can blame some recent Slate(.com) articles on Helvetica
for that.

- Arizona finally makes the Landscape pages with a nice
sunrise photo taken in Picacho Peak State Park. Things look
pretty calm, but just below us a burning tractor trailer full of
hazardous materials has turned Highway 10 is in a ten mile parking lot.
April

- Happy Birthday Dad.
- Is winter finally over? How about a nice Easter
Portrait of kids in a barn loft for the Featured Photo?
February 26, 2007
- A Photo from the Wasatch, Utah area finds its way onto the
Featured Photo page.
- Winter Photos from Clinton County and rural Lawson fill
another Missouri Landscape page.
January 23, 2007
- New
Mexico gets another page. Two photos taken off of highway
380 around Bingham and Carrizozo.
- Nevada turns a page with a photo from Elko.
- Not to be outdone, Utah gets a new page two, with the original
page two moving to page three.
- All of these can be found in the Landscape section.

- Finally, a new Featured Photo. Cuervo, New
Mexico. It's been a busy holiday season, lots of
photography and such culminating in yet another stunning Southern
Solstice.

- New Stuff page. This page. All the new stuff gets listed
here.
- MouseOvers. Put your mouse on a photo and additional
information
will appear. Eventually all of the photos will have these. Right now
it's just the main pages.
- Secure on-line ordering has been
added. This means you don't have to ship proofs to distant relatives
and wait a year and a day for them to make up their minds. Yeah,
I know all the photos are great, and it's hard to decide, (hint: buy
all of them) but they need to get a move on, people are
waiting... This is very useful for families who are scattered to
the
four corners of the globe. Access to your photos is pass worded; you
control who views
your session. Also allows you to show off your pictures without
actually buying anything. Sigh.
- The portrait info section has been
changed to reflect the online ordering, and additional photo related
goodies. The font in the info sections has been changed to be
easier on the eyes.
- The Photo of the Week is now the Featured Photo. I wasn't
changing it every
week, so it seemed a bit disingenuous to keep calling it the Photo of
the Week. The html coding for it remains unchanged; people who
bookmarked previous Photo's of the Week won't loose their bookmarks.

- New
Landscape pages. Colorado is the newest of the
landscape pages. There's been a lot of activity in
the landscape section as a major logistics company has been sponsoring
my photo documentation of the great migration routes. These being the
Oregon trail along I-80 and the dust bowl trail along I-40 (Route 66).
